Guide to Choosing Household Dehumidifiers
1. Dehumidification capacity
The measure of dehumidification capacity refers to the total amount of moisture removed from the air every day.
Dehumidification capacity is an important indicator for measuring the performance of dehumidifiers. The dehumidification capacity of a dehumidifier is usually expressed in L/D (L/day). For example, the dehumidification capacity is 21L/D, which means that under the premise of a temperature of 30 ℃ and a relative humidity of 80%, the dehumidification capacity is 21L/D. Users can choose according to the required dehumidification space and area.
2. Power consumption
In fact, there is not much to pay attention to at this point, because the power of dehumidifiers is basically below 500W. Compared with our large energy consuming appliances, such as air conditioners, heaters, etc., it really does not consume a lot of electricity.
3. Noise
If noise is a parameter, it is determined based on the dehumidification capacity. In our general life scenarios, we can choose dehumidifiers below 42 decibels. For example, the sound level of a refrigerator is around 45, while that of a range hood is around 60. You can refer to it.
4. Water tank
The water tank capacity and dehumidification capacity correspond, and the water tank of a typical household dehumidifier is around 1.5-1.8 gallons. Most dehumidifiers in the US market now have a water full protection design. Simply put, when the water is full, in order to prevent water overflow, the dehumidifier stops working.
5. Applicable area
The larger the applicable area of the dehumidifier, the more expensive it is. Everyone should choose according to the size of their own home.
When purchasing a dehumidifier, in addition to the main dehumidifier parameters mentioned above, there are also some factors that may need to be considered, including (but not limited to):
Drain Jose: Most dehumidifiers have a drainage system behind the body, which eliminates the problem of frequent water pouring. However, dehumidifiers are generally not equipped with drainage hoses and need to be purchased separately.
Adjustable Humidity Range: There is not much difference in the adjustable humidity range of dehumidifiers designed by different brands, most of which are between 40-80%. Some brands, such as Friedrich, can adjust the humidity as low as 30%, up to 90%, while Frigidaire can adjust it as low as 35%, up to 85%. However, in order to achieve dehumidification, the humidity is mostly maintained between 45% and 50%
Net Weight: Literally, the net weight of a machine refers to the weight of the dehumidifier body. For the convenience of household users using dehumidifiers in different places, rollers can be installed at the bottom of the machine.
